“Sport ist Mord” (sport is murder)

After taking a break for almost 3 weeks (because of the flu I had caught), I finally returned to the basketball courts for some workout. After just half a match (we were winning, though), my buddy Travis (on the opposing team) decided to take me out of the game. ;)
I’m just kidding about that last part, but still, both of us going for the ball, we somehow managed to crash our heads together. For him that resulted in a small cut on his forehead, for me it meant a nice cut on my right eyebrow. Since we were playing at the UCI sports center, we went to see their first aid guy, who cleaned up the mess a little bit and told me that I’d need to be stitched up, in order to avoid an ugly scar (Travis was more lucky since his cut was smaller).
Well, so off we went to the ER of the nearby hospital. After some paperwork and a little waiting, a doctor had a look at my cut. He quickly decided that instead of stitching me up, he’d glue it with some special skin glue. No needles involved, yay! :) Well, the process itself was quite undramatic, the cleaning of the wound being most ‘painful’. I guess the worst part is that I can’t do any sports for another two weeks… :-P
Anyway, people have requested pictures over the last two months, so here you go. Not quite what you might have had in mind, but pictures after all — and don’t worry, the red stuff is the glue, not blood. ;-)

  1. Wou, wish that wound heals rapidly and you can start dribbling soon… I´m sure the glue they used will work fine, have heard the results are much better than with stitching!
